First of all, thank you to everyone for your prayers, all of your responses meant so much to me. I love that blogging isn’t just about writing, but about community.

Last night I went upstairs to look for a book, and when I didn’t find it right away, my eyes lit upon an old journal. I started reading it, and then opened a box full of old journals from years ago. I was immersed in reading what I’d written, when my husband came upstairs to find out where I’d disappeared to…

Several entries piqued my interest but one paragraph in particular jumped out at me.

October 12, 2008

I was just thinking, someday I’ll read this again, having lived in the future, and things might make a lot more sense. Then I thought, that’s how God is … He already knows our story; He’s already in the future.

I love getting new journals. Sometimes I’ll just flip through the new, blank pages and wonder what I will write on them. They might be blank pages to me, but God already knows what they’ll be filled with.

I make known the end from the beginning,  from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please’ (Isaiah 46:10 NIV).
